Bathroom mirror spec sheet template (AU)

A bathroom mirror spec sheet entry for an Australian project needs the following fields: Product, Manufacturer, Model No., Dimensions (W×H×D mm), Frame, Glass, IP Rating, CCT, CRI, Wattage, Demister, Touch Control, Installation, Compliance, and Warranty. This structure is compatible with standard NCC Section J documentation formats and builder specification schedules. VUELUXE provides pre-filled spec sheets in this format on request for all current models — no manual entry required for trade account holders.

Copy and adapt the following template for each mirror location on your project. Replace the bracketed values with the correct product data. VUELUXE model data is available via the trade portal or on request.

Field-by-field guidance for Australian projects

Product: use “LED Bathroom Mirror” as the category descriptor. This helps QS and procurement teams find the item in the schedule. Do not abbreviate to “mirror” — there is a distinction between an LED mirror (electrical item) and a plain mirror (non-electrical fixture), and they are treated differently in specification schedules and cost plans.

Dimensions: always include the depth (D) dimension. The depth affects the rough-in — how far the mirror protrudes from the wall, whether keyhole slots land on studs, and whether the conduit or GPO can be concealed behind the frame. VUELUXE mirrors are 35–45mm deep depending on model.

Frame: do not write “gold” — write “brushed gold”, “satin gold”, or use the supplier’s finish code. Colour matching across a project depends on everyone in the chain using the same finish description. A discrepancy between the spec and the purchase order creates a substitution risk.

CCT: “tunable” means the user can adjust colour temperature via the touch sensor. “Fixed” means a single preset. For residential projects, tunable is the client-preferred option. For commercial or multi-residential projects where consistency matters, a fixed preset (commonly 4000K) is cleaner operationally.

CRI (Colour Rendering Index): 90+ is the standard for bathroom mirrors. Below 80 CRI, skin tones under the mirror light look flat or discoloured — a common complaint with cheap imports. VUELUXE standard models are 90+ CRI. The CRI value should appear in the spec for quality control purposes.

Wattage: this is the circuit load figure the electrician needs for circuit sizing. If the mirror has a demister, the wattage listed must include the demister element — they run on the same circuit. A 22W LED strip plus a 35W demister element = 57W total load. Confirm the total wattage with the supplier for each model.

Installation: plug-in versus hardwire is an electrician coordination item, not just a product selection. The rough-in must be prepared for whichever installation type is specified. A change from hardwire to plug-in after rough-in has been done creates a rectification cost. Lock in the installation type before rough-in and include it in the spec.

Pre-filled spec sheets from VUELUXE

VUELUXE provides pre-filled spec sheets for all current models to trade account holders. The spec sheet is formatted as above and can be inserted directly into a builder specification schedule or provided to an architect for inclusion in the project documentation set.

For projects with multiple mirror types, VUELUXE can supply a consolidated schedule in spreadsheet format — one row per mirror location, pre-populated with all model data. This reduces administrative handling and eliminates transcription errors between the product data sheet and the spec schedule.

Test reports (IP44) and compliance documentation (RCM certificate, ERAC registration) are available for inclusion in the project documentation set. These are typically required for building inspections in commercial and multi-residential projects.

What the specification is used for downstream

The spec sheet entry becomes the reference document for five downstream processes: procurement (QS uses it to generate the purchase order), electrical rough-in (electrician uses installation type and wattage), delivery check (site supervisor checks delivery against spec), compliance (certifier references IP rating and RCM), and defect period (the spec is the benchmark for any warranty claim against the builder).

A spec entry that is complete at the time of writing saves time at every one of those downstream stages. The 10 minutes spent filling in all 15 fields correctly typically saves several hours of back-and-forth during procurement and installation.
