Round LED Bathroom Mirrors — Halo-Lit, Frameless, 600-1000mm

Round LED Bathroom Mirrors — Format Overview

Round LED bathroom mirrors have held a consistent position in Australian bathroom specifications for the past several years, driven by a shift away from rectangular formats toward softer geometries that suit both contemporary and transitional design briefs. For builders, interior designers, and bathroom retailers procuring at volume, understanding the construction, sizing logic, and light output of round LED mirrors is essential before committing to a product range.

VUELUXE supplies round LED bathroom mirrors in two primary diameters — 700mm and 900mm — covering the majority of residential project sizes from powder rooms through to master ensuites. Both models ship with brushed aluminium frames in either black or gold, 5mm copper-free glass, and a full CCT range from 2700K through to 6500K, adjustable via an integrated touch sensor. This guide covers everything a trade buyer needs to specify confidently.

For the complete range across all formats, visit the LED bathroom mirrors hub.

Available Diameters — From 600mm to 1000mm

Round mirrors are typically specified by diameter, and the sizing decision should be driven by the vanity width and the vertical space between the vanity top and any overhead cabinetry or ceiling. VUELUXE’s round range currently covers 700mm (VLM-02) and 700mm (VLM-04). These represent the two most commonly requested sizes in Australian residential construction.

DiameterModelWattageFrame DepthTypical Application
700mmVLM-0218W35mmPowder room, small ensuite, feature bathroom
900mmVLM-0430W35mmMaster ensuite, double vanity (single mirror), hotel room

Both models share the same 35mm frame depth, which matters for flush wall installation against a tiled surface. The 35mm profile sits close enough to the wall to avoid casting a heavy shadow on the tile behind, while providing adequate clearance for the LED driver assembly housed within the frame cavity.

For project specifications requiring a smaller footprint — under 700mm for tight powder rooms or compact ensuites — refer to the sizing considerations outlined in the vanity sizing guide.

Halo Glow Construction — How It Works

The defining visual characteristic of VUELUXE round mirrors is the halo glow — a continuous ring of diffused light that emanates from the perimeter of the mirror rather than from a front-facing strip. This effect is achieved through a specific construction sequence that begins with the LED strip placement and ends at the sandblasted edge of the glass.

The LED strip is mounted on a recessed aluminium channel behind the glass panel. Light travels toward the edge of the mirror, where it meets a sandblasted band on the rear surface of the 5mm copper-free glass. The sandblasting diffuses the light as it passes through, creating the characteristic soft ring rather than a visible point-source glow. An acrylic diffuser panel behind the mirror body evens out any variation in the LED strip before the light reaches the glass edge.

This construction method produces a cleaner result than adhesive LED strips applied directly to a backing board, which can show hot spots at LED intervals. The sandblasted approach distributes light consistently across the full 360-degree circumference of round formats, with no visible breaks or bright spots.

Frameless vs Framed Round Options

VUELUXE round mirrors are supplied in a framed configuration — a brushed aluminium extrusion that wraps the circumference of the glass and houses the driver and wiring termination. This differs from a frameless approach where the glass edge is the only visible border.

The framed format offers several practical advantages in a project context. The aluminium frame provides structural rigidity during transit and installation, reducing the risk of edge chipping on 5mm glass. It also creates a cleaner termination point for the sandblasted halo — the light edge is contained within the frame cavity, giving the mirror a precise, resolved appearance rather than a glow that bleeds outward onto the wall.

For trade buyers interested in frameless LED construction, the approach and the tradeoffs are covered in detail on the oval LED mirrors page, which also uses a framed aluminium format with a different frame profile suited to oval geometries. The main hub covers frameless formats in a separate section.

VLM-02 Specification — 700mm Round

The VLM-02 is a 700mm diameter round LED mirror with a 35mm brushed aluminium frame. It operates at 18W and produces a light output suited to powder rooms and smaller bathroom configurations. The full specification is listed below.

SpecificationDetail
Diameter700mm
Depth35mm
Wattage18W
CCT Range2700K–6500K (tunable)

IP RatingIP44
Glass5mm copper-free silvered glass
Frame FinishBrushed Black or Brushed Gold Aluminium
CertificationsSAA / RCM (Australia)
ControlIntegrated touch sensor (on/off, dim, CCT)
MountingWall-hung, hardwired

The VLM-02 draws 18W at full brightness, which positions it at the lower end of the wattage range for LED bathroom mirrors. For powder rooms with limited ambient lighting, 18W at 2700K provides a warm, task-appropriate output. Switching to the 6500K setting produces a cooler, higher-perceived-brightness output suitable for makeup application or grooming tasks where colour accuracy matters.

VLM-04 Specification — 700mm Round

The VLM-04 pairs the 700mm format with back-glow-only lighting, making it the correct specification for master ensuites, hotel bathrooms, and any application where the mirror will serve as the primary light source in the room rather than a secondary fixture.

The additional 12W over the VLM-02 translates to a noticeably brighter halo and greater usable task lighting in larger room volumes. The 900mm footprint works well above a 900mm single vanity or centred above a 1200mm double vanity where a two-mirror layout is not preferred. For guidance on that decision, the sizing guide covers vanity-to-mirror proportion in detail.

Best Applications by Room Type

Round mirrors are a versatile format but they are not the default choice for every application. Understanding where they perform well — and where another format is more appropriate — helps buyers make confident specification decisions.

Powder Rooms

The powder room is where round mirrors are strongest. Vanity widths in powder rooms typically range from 450mm to 600mm, and a 700mm round mirror positioned above a 500mm vanity creates a proportion that reads as intentional rather than undersized. The circular form also softens the often-tight geometry of a powder room, where rectangular mirrors can feel crowded.

Master Ensuite

In a master ensuite with a 900mm single vanity, the VLM-04 at 700mm diameter provides a well-proportioned result. The mirror diameter should not exceed the vanity width, and the VLM-04 sits comfortably within a 900mm bench — acceptable in most design briefs. If the vanity is 1200mm or wider, a single 900mm round mirror can appear undersized and a rectangular format or two round mirrors may be the better specification.

Feature Bathrooms and Hotels

Round mirrors in brushed gold aluminium frame are a consistent specification choice in boutique hotel projects and feature bathrooms where the design brief includes warmer metallics. The circular frame, when paired with a brushed gold tapware set and warm-toned stone tile, creates a cohesive material palette without requiring bespoke fittings. The VLM-04 in brushed gold is the most commonly specified mirror in this context within the VUELUXE range.

CCT and Light Quality Considerations

Both round models — VLM-02 and VLM-04 — ship with CCT tuning across the 2700K to 6500K range. This means a single mirror can serve multiple use cases across the day without a fixed colour temperature commitment at the specification stage.

At 2700K, the mirror produces a warm white output that reads as amber-tinted against a neutral white wall. This is suited to ambient mood use and is the preferred setting for bathrooms with natural stone or warm timber finishes. At 6500K, the output is a crisp cool white with high perceived brightness — useful for task lighting, makeup application, and any grooming context where accurate colour rendering matters.

Both models carry a CRI of ≥90, which meets the threshold for colour-critical task lighting. For a detailed breakdown of how CCT values affect bathroom lighting decisions, refer to the CCT specification guide.

Electrical and Installation Requirements

Both VLM-02 and VLM-04 are hardwired units requiring connection to a dedicated circuit by a licensed electrician. They are not plug-in products. The driver is housed within the mirror body, so the installer does not need to locate or mount a separate transformer. A standard bathroom circuit at 240V/50Hz is sufficient for either model.

Both models are IP44 rated, which permits installation in Zone 2 of the bathroom — beyond 600mm from the shower or bath edge, at any height. They are not rated for Zone 1 installation directly above a bath or shower basin. For most vanity wall positions, IP44 is the correct and sufficient rating.

Wall fixings are supplied with the unit. The mounting plate attaches to the wall before the mirror body is connected, and the mirror clips onto the plate during installation. The 35mm depth means the unit sits 35mm proud of the wall surface — this should be checked against any recessed niche designs where a shallower profile may be required.

Frame Finish Selection — Brushed Black vs Brushed Gold

VUELUXE round mirrors are available in two frame finishes: brushed black aluminium and brushed gold aluminium. The choice is driven primarily by the surrounding tapware and accessory finish in the bathroom. Both finishes are applied to the same aluminium extrusion profile and carry the same structural and durability characteristics.

Brushed black suits bathrooms with matte black tapware, concrete-look tile, and dark grout lines. It provides strong visual definition against light-coloured wall tiles and reads as contemporary and restrained. Brushed gold suits projects with warm stone, terrazzo, or natural timber components, and pairs well with brushed gold or brass tapware. Both finishes resist corrosion in the bathroom environment and do not require sealing or ongoing maintenance beyond standard surface cleaning.

For projects specifying across multiple formats — round, oval, arch — it is worth confirming that the same frame finish is available across all required models before finalising the specification. VUELUXE supplies both finishes across the full range, allowing consistent metalwork throughout a multi-bathroom project.

Copper-Free Glass — Why It Matters

All VUELUXE mirrors use 5mm copper-free silvered glass. In a bathroom context, the key benefit of copper-free glass is resistance to edge blackening — the progressive darkening that occurs around the perimeter of standard mirrors when moisture infiltrates the silver backing over time. Copper-free glass eliminates the copper layer that acts as a conduit for this moisture-driven oxidation, extending the useful life of the mirror in humid bathroom conditions.

For wholesale buyers supplying projects with a warranty component, copper-free glass is a meaningful differentiator. A mirror that maintains clarity to the edge after five or ten years in a bathroom environment is a more defensible product than one that shows blackening at the seal line after two to three years.

How to Specify — Project Documentation Checklist

When preparing a specification for round LED mirrors across a multi-unit project, the following information is required to confirm the correct model, quantity, and finish:

  • Vanity width per room type (powder room, ensuite, master ensuite)
  • Ceiling height and overhead obstruction clearance (cabinets, downlights)
  • Tapware and accessory finish (to confirm frame colour selection)
  • Primary lighting arrangement (is the mirror the sole light source, or supplementary?)
  • Number of units per model (VLM-02 or VLM-04)
  • Frame finish (brushed black or brushed gold)
  • Preferred CCT preset if a specific default setting is required on delivery

Once this information is confirmed, VUELUXE can provide a project-specific quote with lead time and delivery details. For projects requiring more than 10 units, volume pricing is available on enquiry.

Comparing Round to Other Formats

Round mirrors are the right choice when the design brief calls for a soft, geometric focal point above the vanity. They are not suited to double-vanity runs where two mirrors need to align symmetrically — an oval or rectangular format is more practical in that context. For bathrooms where the brief leans toward a vertical, portrait-orientation mirror above a tall vanity, the arch format offers a similar soft-top geometry with a greater surface area.

If the project includes both round and oval formats — common in multi-bathroom residential builds where different rooms have different briefs — the oval LED mirrors page provides the comparable frame and glass specification for the VLFR-01.

Certifications and Compliance

Both VLM-02 and VLM-04 carry SAA and RCM certification for the Australian market. This means the electrical components — driver, LED strip, touch sensor, and wiring assembly — have been independently tested and comply with applicable Australian standards for electrical safety in wet areas.

For builders and project managers supplying compliance documentation to certifiers or certifying authorities, SAA/RCM certification documentation can be provided on request. Both models meet the requirements for inclusion in a NCC-compliant bathroom installation when installed within the correct IP zone.
