Can I see photos of my container before it ships?
Yes — pre-shipment photography is a standard part of the VUELUXE process for container orders. Before final payment and dispatch, the VUELUXE team photographs the carton labels, mirror faces (a sample pull from the batch), packing configuration inside the container, and the test report document that ships inside each carton. All photographs are shared by email within 48 hours of packing completion. The container does not dispatch until the buyer has reviewed the photographs and released final payment.
What is photographed
Carton labels: every carton in the container is labelled with the model number, size, finish, quantity, and order reference. The photographs show the label on a representative sample of cartons — typically 5–10% of the total quantity — confirming the correct product is packed. If a label is wrong or missing, it is caught before the container seals.
Mirror faces: the factory team opens a sample of cartons and photographs the mirror face — the glass surface, frame finish, and touch sensor panel. For a 100-unit container, typically 8–10 mirrors are pulled for face photography. The sample is stratified across the production batch, not just the first units packed. The photographs confirm finish quality, glass integrity, and that the correct model is in the carton.
Packing configuration: the container is photographed before sealing, showing how the cartons are arranged on pallets, the number of cartons per pallet, and the securing method (strapping, wrap). This photograph confirms the load is stable and that the packing configuration matches the packing list.
Test report document: each VUELUXE carton ships with a copy of the test report for the batch. The photograph confirms the document is present and shows the test date, the model number covered, and the testing laboratory. This document is relevant for building inspections where compliance documentation is requested.
How the photo review works
Photos are shared by email to the trade account contact within 48 hours of packing completion. The email includes a photo gallery or PDF with all photographs and a summary of the batch. The buyer reviews the photographs and responds by email — either approving dispatch or noting any concerns. VUELUXE does not dispatch until a written approval is received.
If a concern is raised — for example, a visible finish inconsistency in the mirror face samples — VUELUXE will investigate and provide additional photographs or a resolution before dispatch. In practice, concerns raised at the pre-shipment photo stage are rare because quality inspection happens before packing. The photo review is a confirmation step, not the primary quality control.
Why this process matters
The alternative to a pre-shipment photo review is discovering a problem after the container arrives in Australia. At that point, you have paid freight, waited weeks, and the mirrors are on Australian soil — returning a container adds weeks and significant cost. The pre-shipment photo step is the only practical intervention point in the supply chain where a buyer can verify the order before the freight cost and transit time are committed.
Alibaba-style purchasing — where the buyer pays in full before shipment with no photo review — provides no such intervention point. The pre-shipment photography process is one of the primary reasons to buy through a dedicated Australian wholesale supplier rather than sourcing direct from a factory with no Australian account management.
Smaller orders
Pre-shipment photography is standard for container orders (80+ units). For smaller orders shipped as part of a consolidated container, full pre-shipment photography is not available — the order is part of a consolidated shipment with other buyers’ orders, and individual batch photography is not practical. For smaller orders, VUELUXE’s quality control at the factory level and the 14-day no-form replacement process on arrival provide the equivalent protection.
If you are placing a smaller order that includes a custom finish or non-standard product, discuss a pre-shipment photo arrangement with your VUELUXE account manager when placing the order. Custom orders may be eligible for pre-shipment photography regardless of order size.
Pre-shipment documentation beyond photographs
In addition to photographs, VUELUXE can provide: packing list (item, quantity, carton count), commercial invoice for customs purposes, bill of lading or airway bill, and certificate of origin if required for customs. These documents are generated at the time of dispatch and can be provided in advance of container arrival for customs clearance preparation. Ask the account manager for the full document set at the time of order confirmation.
For volume builders who import regularly, VUELUXE can maintain a consistent document format for your customs broker — reducing the administrative load at each shipment. Discuss this with your account manager if you are placing container orders on a regular basis.
