How long does a VUELUXE order take from PO to delivery?
For in-stock items, a VUELUXE order moves from purchase order accepted to dispatch on the same or next business day, with delivery taking 1–7 business days depending on destination state. Custom and special orders — non-standard CCT preset, non-standard finish, or non-catalogue size — have a 6–8 week lead time from purchase order to dispatch. For container-level orders, pre-shipment photographs are shared with the buyer before final payment is released and the container is dispatched.
In-stock order timeline
In-stock orders for established trade accounts follow this sequence. Purchase order submitted and accepted by VUELUXE — this is confirmed by email. Pick and pack completed same day if the order is received before midday. Dispatch same or next business day via specialist glass freight. Tracking number issued at the time of dispatch. Delivery window by state from dispatch date:
- VIC metro: 1 business day
- NSW / ACT: 1–2 business days
- QLD / SA: 2–3 business days
- WA: 4–7 business days
- TAS: 5–7 business days (sea freight component)
- NT: 5–7 business days
These windows are estimates based on typical transit times using VUELUXE’s freight partners. They are not guarantees. During peak construction periods (October–December, March–April), transit times can extend by 1–2 days due to freight network volume. Plan project orders with a buffer of 3 additional days during peak periods.
What counts as in-stock
In-stock means the specific model, size, and finish combination is available in the VUELUXE warehouse. Not every combination is stocked at all times. Before submitting a purchase order for a project, confirm stock availability with your VUELUXE account manager. For large project orders (30+ units of the same model), confirm stock at the time the project specification is locked — not at the time of the PO.
If a model is temporarily out of stock, VUELUXE will provide an expected restock date. Restocks from the factory typically arrive in containers, so restock dates are reasonably predictable once the container is in transit. Ask for the estimated arrival date of the next container if a model is out of stock.
Custom and special order timeline — 6–8 weeks
Custom orders require factory production time. The 6–8 week window covers: order confirmation and design sign-off (week 1), production scheduling and raw material sourcing (weeks 1–2), production (weeks 2–5), quality inspection and pre-shipment photography (week 5–6), sea freight to Australian port (weeks 6–8 depending on port of origin and shipping schedule), and customs clearance and local delivery (add 3–7 days after port arrival).
The 6–8 week estimate assumes all design decisions are confirmed at the time of order. Changes to the design after production has begun — frame finish change, size change — will restart the production lead time. Lock in all custom specifications before placing the order.
Custom order types and their typical lead times:
- Non-standard CCT preset (e.g. fixed 4000K instead of tunable): 6 weeks
- Non-standard frame finish (not in current catalogue): 6–8 weeks
- Non-standard size (outside catalogue range): 8–12 weeks depending on size
- White-label or custom-branded packaging: 6–8 weeks
Container orders and pre-shipment photography
Container-level orders (typically 80–120 units filling a 20-foot container) include a pre-shipment photography process before final payment and dispatch. Before the container is sealed, the VUELUXE team photographs the carton labels, a sample pull of mirror faces from the batch, the packing configuration inside the container, and the test report document that ships inside the carton. These photographs are shared by email within 48 hours of packing completion.
The pre-shipment photo review is the buyer’s opportunity to confirm the order before it ships. If the photographs show an issue — wrong finish, damaged cartons in the batch, missing labels — the issue can be resolved before the container leaves. After the buyer confirms the photographs, final payment is released and the container is dispatched.
Sea freight transit from factory to Australian port is typically 3–5 weeks depending on origin port and destination. Add 3–7 days for customs clearance and local delivery to the VUELUXE warehouse or direct to site. The total container order timeline from PO to delivery is approximately 10–14 weeks for standard product and 14–18 weeks for custom product.
Planning orders around your construction programme
The optimal time to place a mirror order for a residential project is when the roof is on and the fit-out programme is locked. This gives enough lead time for any custom or out-of-stock items and provides a buffer for freight delays. A common mistake is leaving mirror procurement until the wet areas are tiled — at that point, the installation is 2–3 weeks away, and any custom or restock order cannot be fulfilled in time.
For volume builders running multiple projects simultaneously, VUELUXE can hold stock under a forward order arrangement — you place a project order in advance and draw down stock as each site reaches installation stage. Ask your VUELUXE account manager about forward order stock arrangements for your volume.
