How long does shipping take Australia-wide?
Delivery times from VUELUXE dispatch (Melbourne-based warehouse) are: VIC metro — 1 day. NSW and ACT — 1–2 days. QLD and SA — 2–3 days. WA — 4–7 days. TAS — 5–7 days (sea freight component). NT — 5–7 days. All consignments are tracked and sent via specialist glass freight handlers — not general courier networks. VUELUXE uses road freight only for mirror consignments; airfreight is not used for glass cargo due to fragility risk under air pressure and handling conditions.
Why specialist glass freight matters
General parcel courier networks — Australia Post Express, DHL Parcel, Sendle — are not appropriate for glass cargo. Their handling systems (conveyor sorting, parcel chutes, automated re-stacking) subject parcels to impacts and orientations that a general carton can absorb but a framed glass mirror cannot. VUELUXE uses freight carriers who specialise in fragile and oversized cargo, with trained drivers who understand how to load, secure, and unload mirror consignments.
The distinction is visible in the transit damage rate. General courier networks have a significantly higher breakage rate for glass products than specialist glass freight. The VUELUXE freight choice is a deliberate cost-versus-risk decision: specialist glass freight is more expensive per kilogram than general parcel freight, but the reduction in breakage rate means fewer warranty replacements, fewer project delays, and better overall cost efficiency for the trade account.
Delivery windows by state — detail
VIC metro: orders dispatched from the Adelaide warehouse typically reach VIC metro addresses the following business day. For VIC regional addresses, allow 2–3 business days depending on the specific location. Gippsland, the Wimmera, and far north-east Victoria may take an additional day compared to metro.
NSW and ACT: Sydney metro is typically 1–2 business days from Adelaide dispatch. Regional NSW — Hunter Valley, New England, far-west NSW — is 2–4 business days. ACT (Canberra) is typically 2 business days via road freight from Adelaide.
QLD: Brisbane metro is 2–3 business days. North Queensland (Townsville, Cairns) is 4–6 business days. SEQ regional areas (Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast) are typically 2–3 business days in line with Brisbane.
SA: Adelaide metro is 2–3 business days. Regional SA is 3–5 business days. The Riverland and South-East SA are at the shorter end; the Eyre Peninsula, Far North, and Outback SA at the longer end.
WA: Perth metro is 4–7 business days via road freight. WA is the longest delivery window due to the interstate distance. VUELUXE does not use airfreight for mirror consignments to WA — the freight time is the road freight time. For time-sensitive WA projects, factor this window into the construction programme and order with appropriate lead time.
TAS: Tasmania deliveries involve a road freight leg to Melbourne or Sydney port, sea freight to the Tasmanian port (Devonport or Burnie), and a local delivery leg. The total transit is 5–7 business days from Adelaide dispatch. Timing can vary with shipping schedules — TAS deliveries are less predictable than mainland deliveries. Allow 7 business days as a planning buffer for TAS projects.
NT: Darwin and the greater NT receive consignments via the Stuart Highway road freight route from Adelaide. Allow 5–7 business days from Adelaide dispatch to Darwin metro. Remote NT locations may take an additional 2–4 business days depending on the delivery point and local freight availability.
Tracking
All VUELUXE consignments are tracked. A tracking number is issued at the time of dispatch and emailed to the trade account contact. The tracking link is active from dispatch and shows the real-time location of the consignment through the freight carrier’s tracking portal. For multi-carton consignments, a single consignment number covers all cartons in the shipment — the tracking shows the status of the consignment as a whole.
If a consignment shows “delivered” on tracking but has not been received on site, contact the freight carrier using the tracking number immediately. VUELUXE can follow up with the carrier on behalf of the trade account holder — contact the account manager with the tracking number and the issue. Most delivery discrepancies are resolved within 1 business day (typically a mis-delivery to an adjacent address or a building reception that signed and held the delivery without notifying site staff).
Planning deliveries around the construction programme
For construction projects, the delivery should be timed to arrive 1–2 weeks before the installation date — early enough to allow for inspection and any warranty replacement, but not so early that the mirrors sit on-site for weeks in a construction environment. Factor the state delivery window into the order date. For a WA project with mirrors due for installation in 3 weeks, the order needs to be placed now — the 4–7 day WA window leaves limited buffer for any delays.
For large projects across multiple states, VUELUXE can coordinate staged deliveries — different consignments to different sites on different dates, all from a single purchase order. Discuss staged delivery arrangements with the account manager when placing the order.
