Frequently Asked Questions

Most trade questions about VUELUXE come down to the same ten topics: minimum order quantities, why we do not publish pricing, what happens if a mirror fails post-install, how customisation works, what the certifications actually cover, and how to start an account. This page collects the most common questions by category and links out to the dedicated answer page for each one. If you have a question that is not answered here, the fastest route is the trade inquiry form — a rep responds inside one business day.

VUELUXE is a wholesale-only LED bathroom mirror brand supplying Australian builders, designers, and fit-out contractors. Five models. Landed stock in Adelaide. No public price list. No retail channel. Every account starts with a trade inquiry and a first conversation about volume, project type, and delivery cadence.

Trade and ordering FAQs

The trade process at VUELUXE is built for builders and fit-out contractors running projects at volume. It is not built for one-off orders, retail inquiries, or sample requests without a project behind them. The questions below cover the mechanics of how a trade account opens, how ordering works, and what terms look like once the account is active.

The most common entry question is about minimum order quantity. VUELUXE does not publish a hard per-order minimum on the website, because the relevant threshold depends on the account type, the SKU mix, and whether the buyer is operating off landed stock or running a buy-against-forecast arrangement. The MOQ page covers the thresholds in full, including the difference between a first order and an ongoing account.

The second most common trade question is why VUELUXE does not publish a price list. The short answer is that pricing depends on volume, project pipeline, and order frequency. A builder ordering 30 mirrors per quarter gets a different number than a builder ordering 300. Publishing a single price would either undercut the high-volume buyer or mislead the low-volume one. The no public pricing page explains the logic in detail and covers what the first pricing conversation looks like.

Account setup is straightforward. The information needed to open a trade account: company name and ABN, trading address and delivery address, volume estimate, project type (volume residential, mid-custom, luxury, commercial, multi-res), and a preferred SKU or two from the current range. Submit through the trade inquiry form. A rep responds inside one business day. For a full walk-through of the account opening process, see the how to get a trade quote page.

Standard account terms run 50% deposit on order, 50% on dispatch, net 7 from invoice for established accounts. Terms are negotiable on volume commitments above 100 units per quarter. The first order typically runs on full payment. Account credit terms open after the first two or three orders, depending on volume and payment history.

Technical FAQs

The technical questions that come through the trade inquiry process fall into five categories: colour temperature (CCT), IP rating, demister operation, touch sensor behaviour, and colour rendering index (CRI). Each is covered in detail on the specification hub. This section gives the working answers.

CCT on all five VUELUXE models runs 2700K to 6500K, tunable continuously through the capacitive touch sensor. 2700K is warm white — the colour of a halogen downlight. 6500K is daylight — the colour of noon sunlight in shade. The mirror sweeps the full range on a long press. There are no preset steps — it is a continuous sweep, not a tri-colour toggle. Memory function holds the last CCT and brightness through power-off, so the mirror returns to the user’s preferred setting every morning.

IP44 means the unit is protected against solids larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction, tested to AS/NZS 60529. IP44 is the correct rating for Zone 2 vanity installation under AS/NZS 3000 — the zone that covers most bathroom mirror positions above a basin. The IP seal on VUELUXE units covers the LED strip, the driver, the demister element, and the touch sensor. The driver sits in a sealed compartment with a gasketed cable gland. IP44 is the minimum; the seal is built to hold in high-humidity coastal environments.

The demister pad is a 220V 20W element bonded to the back of the glass. It runs on the same touch interface as the LED — a long press activates it. At operating temperature, it keeps the mirror clear through shower steam in approximately 90 seconds from cold. The pad is wired on a separate driver channel from the LED, so the LED can be dimmed without changing demister output. The bonding adhesive is rated for the thermal cycle across the mirror’s service life.

The capacitive touch sensor is calibrated for wet-hand use. It responds through condensation on the mirror face and through wet skin without requiring a dry tap. Single short touch for on/off. Long press for dim. Three short taps cycle CCT. The sensor sits behind the glass and is invisible from the front — there is no visible pad or button. Touch sensors on cheaper mirrors often require a dry tap to register; VUELUXE sensors are calibrated for the bathroom environment specifically.

CRI across all five models is ≥90, with R9 ≥50, across the full 2700K to 6500K range. CRI 90 means skin tones render accurately and makeup colours read true against the mirror light. The R9 figure specifically covers saturated red — the colour that most commonly reads incorrectly under low-CRI light sources. Cheap import mirrors often drop to CRI 80 at the cool end of the tunable range, where the LED drive is lower and colour accuracy degrades. VUELUXE maintains CRI ≥90 end to end.

Shipping and logistics FAQs

VUELUXE holds landed stock in Adelaide. Standard orders on the five current SKUs ship from Adelaide warehouse to site within two to five business days, depending on the delivery address. There is no factory lead time on standard SKUs. The bottleneck is the buyer’s internal approval process and the delivery address, not production.

Freight is calculated at the time of order based on unit count, delivery address, and delivery type (standard freight, express, or site delivery requiring a tailgate). Most Melbourne and Sydney metro deliveries run two to three business days from dispatch. Regional and remote addresses add one to three days. Delivery addresses with site-access restrictions — narrow driveways, no lift access, no forklift — need to be flagged at order time so freight is booked correctly.

Container-load orders for large volume accounts — typically 100 units or more — run on a separate lead-time track. Container lead time from order confirmation to Adelaide port arrival is six to eight weeks, plus customs clearance and inland freight. For volume buyers operating buy-against-forecast arrangements, container orders land ahead of the project fit-out window, and stock is drawn from the landed holding rather than ordered per project. That model eliminates the container lead time from the project schedule entirely.

Every shipment is quality-checked before it ships. The pre-departure check covers the units as packed, the carton count against the purchase order, and any visible condition issues before the container is sealed. Every unit is then inspected and quality-verified a second time on arrival at our Adelaide warehouse, before stock is assigned to any project. If units arrive with damage inconsistent with the photos, the freight carrier and VUELUXE are both informed immediately. The photo trail removes the common dispute about whether damage occurred at the factory or in transit.

Freight insurance is available on request. Most established accounts carry freight insurance on their own trade account; for first-order buyers, VUELUXE can arrange cover at the buyer’s cost. Uninsured freight risk sits with the carrier; VUELUXE covers manufacturing defects under warranty, not freight damage.

Warranty and replacement FAQs

The VUELUXE warranty process is designed to get a replacement on site without making the buyer manage a claims process. The standard path: a mirror fails in service. The buyer emails the order number and a brief description of the fault. A replacement ships from the Adelaide warehouse the same day or next business day. No claim form. No photos required for standard failure modes. No factory assessment cycle. The unit is on site inside two weeks.

The 14-day no-form replacement policy covers: LED failure, driver failure, demister failure, touch sensor failure, and any manufacturing defect visible before installation. It does not cover physical damage caused after delivery — broken glass, impact damage, or installation damage. For damage claims, the pre-shipment photos are the reference document that establishes the condition of the unit when it left the warehouse.

Warranty periods: five years on the LED driver and electrical components. Ten years on the copper-free glass against silvering failure — specifically, against black-spot corrosion developing from the edge under normal bathroom humidity conditions. Both warranties are backed locally; claims do not involve return shipping to an overseas factory or a factory assessment cycle. The warranty on the glass is meaningful specifically because VUELUXE uses copper-free glass across all five models. Copper-backed glass corrodes from the edge in 18 to 30 months in a bathroom environment. Copper-free glass does not exhibit that failure mode. The ten-year glass warranty is achievable because the glass construction earns it.

For warranty terms on large volume accounts, the rep conversation covers the specifics. High-volume accounts running estate pipelines sometimes operate on a bulk warranty stock arrangement where a small number of replacement units are held at the buyer’s warehouse rather than being shipped per claim. That arrangement is available on request for accounts ordering above a certain annual volume.

Product comparison FAQs

Three comparison questions come through the trade inquiry process regularly: how VUELUXE compares to direct Alibaba sourcing, how it compares to retail bathroom chains, and how it compares to other AU-based wholesalers. Each is a different question with a different answer.

Against direct Alibaba sourcing: the unit cost on a direct factory order from an overseas supplier is lower on the purchase order. The job cost is higher once you count the lead time, the certification risk, the warranty process, and the callback rate. Alibaba mirrors frequently arrive without valid SAA/RCM certification — certificates that reference different model numbers, certificates from factories that cannot provide test reports on request, or CE-marked units that are not legal to install in Australia. The mirror that saves $40 per unit on the purchase order costs $400 to $800 per callback once the electrician, tiler, and supervisor are on-site for a replacement. The full comparison is on the Are VUELUXE mirrors better than Alibaba imports? page.

Against retail bathroom chains: retail product is priced for the consumer channel and does not offer trade pricing, volume discounts, or account terms. Specification documentation — the compliance certificates, test reports, and data sheets that a builder’s project manager needs for the compliance trail — is not standard practice in the retail channel. Warranty processes at retail typically require the end user to manage the claim. None of that is workable on a builder’s site with 30 mirrors in the schedule of finishes.

Against other AU-based wholesalers: the relevant differences sit in the specification baseline (whether the product runs copper-free glass, constant-current drivers, and matched-life components as standard rather than as upgrades), the warranty process (whether the replacement ships on a no-form basis or requires a multi-step assessment), and the stock model (whether product is held in Australia or runs on a container lead time). The VUELUXE specification and the warranty process are the two points where the comparison is most direct.

Customisation FAQs

VUELUXE runs five standard SKUs against Adelaide landed stock. Customisation beyond the standard range is available on indent — that is, on a factory production run with a six-to-eight-week lead time landed. The customisation options and the process for requesting them are covered on the Can I customise size, frame, or CCT? page.

Size customisation is available on indent for orders above a minimum run. The minimum varies by shape — round mirrors have a lower minimum run than arch mirrors, which require additional tooling. Custom sizes outside the standard range typically add one to two weeks to the production schedule. For estate builders with a fixed non-standard size in the inclusions package, a custom run on indent is the right model — lock the size, lock the pricing, receive the container against the project calendar.

CCT customisation: all four standard models already run the full 2700K to 6500K tunable range. There is no CCT customisation required at the spec level. If a project brief calls for a fixed CCT — for example, a hotel brief that specifies 4000K only — that can be discussed on indent. Fixed-CCT production typically reduces driver cost slightly but removes the flexibility that most builders find useful across a mixed-buyer estate.

Frame finish: the VLFR-01 round framed is the only framed model in the standard range, available in brushed black and brushed gold aluminium. Custom frame finishes — brushed nickel, satin chrome, powder-coated colours — are available on indent subject to minimum run and production lead time. Non-standard anodising requires factory tooling confirmation before an order can be placed; the trade rep manages that conversation directly.

White-label and OEM options: VUELUXE does not offer white-label product off the standard SKUs. For volume buyers who want to carry their own branding on the mirror, a white-label conversation requires a minimum annual volume commitment and a signed OEM agreement. The conversation starts at the trade inquiry; the specifics are worked out in the first call with the national accounts rep.

Specification and compliance FAQs

The compliance questions that come through the trade process are almost always variations on the same two: are the mirrors genuinely SAA/RCM certified, and do the certificates reference the models on the purchase order. The answer to both is yes. Certificates are held on file for all five models and are released to trade accounts on request. They are not published on the website because releasing them to non-trade inquiries creates a channel for certificate misuse — a problem that is documented in the Australian direct-import market.

SAA approval: all five models — VLFR-01 round framed, VLM-02 round 700mm, VLM-04 round 700mm, VLM-07 arch 550×950mm — carry SAA approval against AS/NZS 60598 (luminaires) and AS/NZS 61347 (control gear). The certificate number references the model number. The certificate can be presented to an electrical inspector or a project compliance officer without qualification.

RCM marking: all five models carry the Regulatory Compliance Mark, which covers electrical safety, EMC emissions, and EMC immunity under ACMA regulation. RCM is the current mark that replaced the older C-Tick and A-Tick. CE marking — the European mark — is not equivalent to RCM and is not accepted by Australian electrical inspectors. VUELUXE mirrors carry RCM, not CE. The distinction matters on any project where a certificate of electrical safety is required for handover.

IP zone compliance: IP44 to AS/NZS 60529 covers Zone 2 installation under AS/NZS 3000. Zone 2 is the standard vanity mirror position — the wall area above the basin, outside the direct splash zone of the shower. Zone 1 (directly above the bath or shower) also allows IP44-minimum fittings. Zone 0 (inside the bath or shower) requires IPX7 — mirrors are not installed in Zone 0. The IP zone compliance page is IP44 rating explained.

AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules compliance: the VUELUXE range is designed for installation to AS/NZS 3000, including the AU 3-pin plug cord that allows the sparkie to test on-site before finalising behind the mirror plate. The demister element is wired on a separate driver channel with the correct thermal rating for a 220V circuit. The IP44 sealed driver compartment satisfies the wiring rules requirement for insulation in a wet area. All compliance documentation is in the trade pack released on account opening.

How to get started as a VUELUXE trade partner

The process is straightforward. An inquiry, a conversation, and a first order. There is no extended approval process, no credit check before the first conversation, and no minimum project size that closes the door on smaller builders who are growing their volume.

Step one: submit a trade inquiry through the trade inquiry form. Include company name, ABN, volume estimate (units per quarter or per year works), project type, and any preferred SKUs from the current range. That is enough to start the conversation. A rep responds inside one business day.

Step two: the first call. The rep covers pricing based on your volume tier, the SKU options most relevant to your project type, lead time for current stock and any indent requirements, and account terms. The call is typically 20 to 30 minutes. If you want to run a sample before committing, that is arranged in the first call — samples ship from Adelaide within the week.

Step three: first order and trade pack. Once the account is confirmed, the trade pack goes across — spec sheets, compliance certificates, product data for all five models, and the lead-time confirmation for your project calendar. The first order is raised by purchase order against the account. Standard payment is 50% deposit, 50% on dispatch. First sample orders are paid in full upfront.

Step four: ongoing orders. Purchase orders by email. Dispatch from Adelaide warehouse within one to two business days of order confirmation and payment. Delivery two to five days to site depending on address. Warranty replacements ship same-day or next business day on a no-form basis.

For builders running estate pipelines with fixed annual volumes — typically 40 to 400 dwellings per year — the buy-against-forecast model is worth discussing in the first call. That model locks pricing for a calendar year against a forecast schedule, eliminates the per-job order process, and ensures stock is available ahead of the fit-out window rather than being ordered against individual project completions.
