How much does shipping cost for trade orders?

Shipping cost for trade orders is quoted as part of the order rather than published as a flat rate, because the cost depends on order size, delivery destination, and the freight carrier used for your postcode. There is no standard per-unit freight rate that applies uniformly across Australia. The freight cost included in your VUELUXE quote is calculated for your specific order and delivery address.

What determines shipping cost

Three variables determine the freight cost for a VUELUXE trade order. The first is order size — larger orders consolidate into fewer cartons or a pallet, reducing the per-unit freight cost relative to small orders. A 10-unit order ships differently from a 100-unit order, and the per-unit cost is lower at higher volumes because the fixed costs of handling, pickup, and consignment creation are spread across more units.

The second variable is delivery destination. Freight rates within Australia are distance and zone-based. Melbourne metro deliveries cost less than interstate deliveries, and interstate deliveries to major metro areas cost less than regional or remote deliveries. A Sydney metro delivery costs more than a Melbourne metro delivery; a Darwin delivery costs more than a Brisbane delivery. These differences reflect the actual logistics network rates VUELUXE pays to carriers — they are not a margin on freight.

The third variable is the freight carrier used. VUELUXE uses a carrier network selected for reliability and regional coverage. Some postcodes are served by multiple carriers and VUELUXE selects the most cost-effective option. Postcodes in regional and remote areas may have fewer carrier options and higher corresponding rates.

Indicative freight ranges by state

While exact freight costs are always quoted per order, the following indicative ranges give trade buyers a planning reference. These figures are per carton, based on standard VUELUXE mirror carton weights and dimensions, and are subject to carrier rate changes.

  • Melbourne metro: approximately $15–25 per carton
  • Sydney metro and regional NSW: approximately $25–40 per carton
  • Brisbane metro and SE Queensland: approximately $25–40 per carton
  • Adelaide metro: approximately $25–35 per carton
  • Perth metro: approximately $40–60 per carton
  • Regional Queensland, Northern NSW, Gippsland: approximately $35–55 per carton
  • Remote areas (NT, far north QLD, WA regional): quoted individually — rates vary significantly by location

These figures are for standard road freight on trade orders. They should be treated as indicative only — the freight cost in your VUELUXE quote is the binding figure. For buyers planning project budgets before a formal quote, these ranges are sufficient for a cost estimate. For buyers committing to a project budget, the formal quote provides the actual freight cost.

Container-level freight

Orders at container level — typically 100 or more units depending on product size — are typically quoted with subsidised freight as part of the overall order economics. Container freight from Adelaide to major metropolitan areas can reduce the effective per-unit freight cost to below the carton rates above. The container freight arrangement is discussed at the quote stage for orders of qualifying size. Not all orders qualify; the subsidy reflects genuine cost savings from consolidated container delivery rather than a blanket discount.

Freight for multi-site deliveries

Trade orders that require delivery to multiple sites — for example, a builder with two active sites requiring mirrors — are quoted with a separate freight cost for each delivery address. Each consignment is a discrete freight transaction. For property developers and builders managing multiple sites simultaneously, VUELUXE can organise a split delivery from a single order — one order, multiple consignments. The freight cost for each address is included in the consolidated quote.

How to get an accurate freight quote

To get an accurate freight quote, submit a trade inquiry with your delivery postcode, the number of units required, and the model or size range you are ordering. VUELUXE provides a quote including the freight cost within one business day for standard stock enquiries. The freight cost in the quote is the actual cost applied to your order — there are no additional freight charges added at dispatch.

For buyers who require a freight-only estimate before committing to a formal inquiry, contacting the VUELUXE trade team directly with your postcode and estimated order size is the fastest way to get a reliable figure. This is a common request from builders pricing bathroom packages for project tenders.
