Do you offer holding stock for builder programs?

Holding stock is available for volume builder accounts with a standing purchase agreement. VUELUXE holds an agreed quantity of specified models in Adelaide warehouse, allocated to the account. This arrangement is designed for builders running ongoing house programs (10 or more houses per year) who need supply certainty and cannot afford site delays caused by stock shortages.

What holding stock means in practice

A holding stock arrangement means VUELUXE sets aside a defined quantity of a specific model or models in Adelaide warehouse specifically for one builder account. That stock is not available for general sale to other buyers. When the builder’s project manager triggers a delivery — typically when a site is ready for mirror installation — VUELUXE dispatches from the allocated holding stock within 1–3 business days.

This is different from a standard trade account where a builder orders on demand and relies on general warehouse availability. With holding stock, the builder’s allocation is reserved regardless of broader demand patterns. If VUELUXE has a period of high order volume that clears warehouse stock for a particular model, the holding stock account is unaffected.

Who holding stock is designed for

The holding stock program is practical for builders who meet a specific usage profile. Volume builders running 10 or more houses per year on an ongoing program — not a single project, but a rolling pipeline of new house builds — benefit most from the arrangement. The consistency of demand justifies VUELUXE maintaining a dedicated allocation, and the builder benefits from knowing that each new site will have mirrors available on a fixed lead time without requiring a separate order placement and stock check for every house.

Project builders working on a single large development can also use holding stock if the project is structured as a multi-stage build with delivery calls spread across 6–18 months. In this case, the holding stock arrangement functions as staged delivery (see the staged delivery page) but with shorter individual delivery cycles.

Setting up a holding stock agreement

Holding stock is arranged via a standing purchase agreement, not a standard trade account inquiry. The process is: the builder nominates the model(s) to be held, the quantity to be held at any given time (the replenishment level), and the expected monthly or quarterly call-off rate. VUELUXE confirms stock availability for the initial holding quantity and issues a purchase agreement covering the holding arrangement terms.

The builder pays for stock in tranches — typically monthly or per call-off — rather than paying for the full holding quantity upfront. VUELUXE retains ownership of uncalled stock until the call-off triggers a delivery. The specific financial structure is agreed per account and documented in the purchase agreement.

Replenishment and stock level management

When a builder’s holding stock falls below the agreed minimum level — triggered by call-offs as sites progress — VUELUXE replenishes the allocation automatically, subject to the replenishment trigger being confirmed in the purchase agreement. Replenishment from Adelaide warehouse stock is typically same-day or next-day. Replenishment requiring factory supply (if the model is not in general warehouse stock) takes 6–8 weeks, which is why holding stock is most effective for models that VUELUXE carries in ongoing warehouse inventory.

VUELUXE provides the builder with a stock level report on request, or can be set up to provide regular updates (monthly or as each call-off is triggered) so the builder’s purchasing team maintains visibility over the holding allocation.

Storage duration and fees

Holding stock stored in Adelaide warehouse for up to 90 days from the date of first allocation carries no separate storage fee — the storage cost is incorporated into the pricing structure. Holding stock held beyond 90 days without call-off triggers may be subject to a storage fee, depending on the purchase agreement terms. This is designed to encourage builders to maintain a realistic call-off schedule aligned to actual construction rates rather than holding more stock than their program requires.

Model selection for holding stock programs

Holding stock works best when the builder has standardised on one or two mirror models across their entire house program. Standardisation reduces the complexity of the holding arrangement and ensures that the allocated stock is actually used within a reasonable timeframe. Builders specifying multiple models across their program — for example, different mirrors in main bathroom, ensuite, and powder room — can run a holding stock arrangement, but the allocation becomes more complex to manage and the risk of slow-moving stock on any one model increases.

VUELUXE recommends volume builders standardise on the VLM-04 round or VLFR-01 frameless rectangular as their primary specification for a house program, as both are consistently stocked in Adelaide warehouse and represent the most cost-effective combination of product quality and supply reliability.

Benefits versus standard on-demand ordering

The practical difference between holding stock and standard on-demand ordering comes down to one risk: site delay caused by stock availability. Standard on-demand ordering means each site triggers an order, which triggers a stock check, which may result in a 2–7 day delivery or — in a high-demand period — a longer wait if warehouse stock is temporarily depleted. Holding stock eliminates this risk entirely. The stock is there, it is yours, and it ships within 1–3 days of a call-off trigger. For a builder managing 10 simultaneous sites, the time saved on procurement administration alone is meaningful.
