Do interior designers get a trade discount?
Interior designers with a verified ABN and professional membership — DIDA, IDEA, or equivalent — qualify for VUELUXE trade account pricing. Pricing is on a per-project inquiry basis; no standing discount schedule is published. Sample mirrors for project mood boards are available at a reduced cost for confirmed account holders, credited against the first order within 60 days.
Qualifying for a trade account as an interior designer
VUELUXE trade accounts are open to interior designers who can demonstrate professional status. The qualifying criteria are: an active Australian Business Number (ABN), and membership of a recognised interior design professional body — the Design Institute of Australia (DIA), Interior Decorators and Designers Association (IDDA), Decoration + Design Industry Association (DDIA), or an equivalent body. Freelance designers without formal membership can qualify on the basis of ABN plus a portfolio or professional website demonstrating active practice.
Applications are reviewed within 24 hours. VUELUXE does not require a minimum annual purchase commitment to open an account, and there is no joining fee. The account remains active as long as it is used for at least one order or inquiry per year.
How trade pricing works for designers
Trade pricing for interior designers is provided on a per-project basis. When you are specifying mirrors for a project, submit an inquiry with the model, quantity, finish, and CCT requirements. VUELUXE responds with a formal quote within 24 hours. The quote reflects trade pricing — below the indicative RRP that a retailer would apply — and is valid for 14 days.
There is no standing price list because VUELUXE’s pricing accounts for current freight costs, stock levels, and exchange rate impacts on landed cost. A price that was accurate six months ago may not reflect current conditions. The quote process ensures designers always receive a current, accurate figure for their project cost plans.
Sample mirrors for project development
One of the most practical aspects of the VUELUXE trade account for interior designers is access to sample mirrors. When you are developing a concept for a client — comparing CCT options, assessing finish against tiling or cabinetry, or checking scale in a mood board — a sample mirror provides a more accurate reference than a catalogue image.
Samples are available to confirmed trade account holders at a reduced cost (not free). The sample cost is credited in full against the first project order placed within 60 days. For projects where the design brief specifies a particular CCT — often a critical decision in high-end residential bathrooms — a sample is a practical investment that reduces the risk of specifying the wrong light temperature for the space.
CCT and finish selection support
Interior designers frequently cite CCT selection as one of the more complex decisions in bathroom specification. The difference between a 2700K warm white and a 4000K neutral white is significant in a bathroom context, particularly when the vanity is used for makeup application, grooming, or skincare tasks that benefit from accurate colour rendering.
VUELUXE mirrors carry a CRI rating of 90+. Several models offer switchable CCT (typically 2700K / 4000K / 6500K via touch sensor), which resolves the warm-versus-cool debate for mixed-use bathrooms. For designers who want to confirm the exact light quality before specifying, a sample is the most reliable method — product photography cannot accurately represent CCT.
Finish options available to trade
VUELUXE mirrors are available in frameless (no surround), matte black frame, brushed nickel frame, and chrome frame, depending on the model. Not all finishes are available for all models, and not all finishes are held in Adelaide warehouse stock — some require factory lead time. When submitting a project inquiry, specify your preferred finish and VUELUXE will confirm availability and lead time for that combination.
For high-specification residential projects where the designer requires a bespoke finish not in the standard range, VUELUXE can quote a custom factory run. Minimum quantities apply for custom finishes.
Specification documentation for designers
Interior designers specifying VUELUXE products into room data sheets or handover documentation can request cut sheets, compliance certificates, and installation guides per model. These are provided at no cost to trade account holders. If your project requires compliance documentation for a council or certifier, VUELUXE can provide the RCM/SAA certificate and IP44 test report for each model specified.
Working with builders and project managers
Interior designers often specify a product but are not the procurement decision-maker — the builder or project manager places the actual order. VUELUXE supports this by allowing a designer’s specification to be transferred to a builder trade account for procurement, while preserving the design intent. If you specify a VUELUXE model and the builder needs to verify pricing or availability independently, both parties can engage with VUELUXE directly without requiring the designer to act as intermediary on every transaction.
