How do custom builders order VUELUXE mirrors?
Custom builders — luxury residential and bespoke project-by-project operators — order via direct inquiry. Submit a project spec list covering model, quantity, finish, and CCT preference, and VUELUXE provides a formal quote within 24 hours. For non-standard finishes or sizes outside the standard product range, a lead time of 6–8 weeks from factory applies.
What defines a custom builder order
In VUELUXE’s trade framework, a custom builder is a builder working on high-specification, project-specific residential work — typically luxury homes, architecturally designed builds, or high-end display homes — where the mirror specification is driven by the design brief rather than a standard product selection. These projects often involve smaller quantities (1–20 units) but with closer attention to finish, size, and CCT consistency across the property.
Custom builder orders differ from volume builder orders primarily in frequency and standardisation. Volume builders lock in one or two models across a full housing program. Custom builders select models project-by-project, sometimes requiring sizes or finishes that are not standard warehouse stock. VUELUXE accommodates both — the ordering process is the same; the lead time may differ.
The ordering process step by step
The ordering process for custom builders has four stages. First, prepare your project spec list. This should include the model name or description (if you are unsure of the exact model, a reference image or dimension requirement is sufficient), quantity per model, finish preference (matte black, brushed nickel, chrome, or frameless), CCT preference (warm, cool, or switchable), and the delivery address.
Second, submit the inquiry. This can be done via the trade account inquiry form on the VUELUXE site, or directly via email. VUELUXE does not require a phone call to initiate an order — written spec lists are preferred because they create a reference document for the project.
Third, receive and review your quote. VUELUXE will respond within 24 hours with a formal quote covering per-unit pricing, total, freight estimate, payment terms, and expected dispatch or lead time. The quote is valid for 14 days. If you need to hold pricing for a longer period (for example, a project that has not yet received development approval), let VUELUXE know — an indicative price range can be provided without a formal quote.
Fourth, confirm and pay. Once the quote is accepted, VUELUXE issues a pro-forma invoice. Payment confirms the order. For warehouse stock orders, dispatch follows within 3–5 business days. For factory orders, the 6–8 week lead time begins from payment receipt.
Non-standard finishes and sizes
VUELUXE’s Adelaide warehouse carries the standard product range in the most common finishes and sizes. For custom builds that require a specific size not in the standard range — for example, a 1400mm wide frameless mirror for a feature bathroom — or a finish that is not standard warehouse stock, VUELUXE coordinates a factory custom order. The process is the same as a standard inquiry, but the lead time is 6–8 weeks from purchase order, and a minimum quantity may apply for custom runs (typically 5–10 units depending on the specification).
Custom size orders require exact dimensions confirmed in writing before the order is placed. VUELUXE recommends custom builders supply a dimensioned sketch or PDF floor plan excerpt to confirm the specification is feasible before a quote is finalised.
Samples for high-specification projects
For luxury custom builds where the client or interior designer needs to approve the product before it is installed, VUELUXE supplies sample mirrors to verified trade accounts. Samples are charged at cost — they are not free — but the cost is credited against the project order if placed within 60 days. For custom size or custom finish samples, a sample lead time of 4–6 weeks applies from factory.
The sample process is well suited to projects where the mirror is a significant design feature and the client wants to approve the light quality, CCT, and finish before committing to the full order. VUELUXE can supply the sample alongside a compliance pack (RCM/SAA certificate, IP44 test report, wiring guide) so the electrical contractor can review the installation requirements at the same time.
Compliance documentation for luxury projects
Custom and luxury projects often require more thorough compliance documentation for certifiers, councils, or project-specific quality management systems. VUELUXE provides cut sheets (PDF per model with dimensions, wattage, CCT, CRI, IP rating, and fixing diagram), RCM/SAA compliance certificates, IP44 test reports, and — on request — NatSpec-compatible specification text for inclusion in project documentation. These documents are available at no cost to verified trade account holders.
Payment terms for custom builder orders
For warehouse stock orders of standard models, full payment is required at order confirmation. For factory custom orders — non-standard sizes, finishes, or quantities requiring a factory run — a deposit of 30–50% is required at PO stage, with the balance due before factory dispatch. Payment terms are specified in each formal quote. New trade accounts do not have open credit; credit terms can be discussed after an order history is established.
